Sehr oft werden sie in Bearbeitungszentren und spanabhebenden Maschinen eingesetzt. Um den Faltenbalg bei starkem Beschuss mit hei\u00dfen Sp\u00e4nen zu sch\u00fctzen, wird dieser mit Metallelementen, sogenannten &#8222;Lamellen&#8220; abgeschirmt.
